If the Phoenix Coyotes are getting attendance records of around 6,000, and getting T.V. ratings of around 4,000 than the corporate sponsors are going to have to wake up and realize that they are getting the attention equivalent to a small town. I mean my home town of 10,000 people (Martensville Saskatchewan) would support the team about as much as all of Arizona does. This is because every single person would attend the game or watch the game because the interest in hockey is there enough for this to happen. By saying this, if Saskatoon had a Saskatchewan based NHL team than you have an automatic 10,000 fans ten minutes north of Saskatoon because Martensville is not even ten minutes from Credit Union Centre. Warman also has 10,000 people which is 15 minutes from Saskatoon. These two towns put together could support an NHL team more than Arizona ever could. Now by saying this, Saskatoon's metro is over 300,000. Reports say that there are more vehicles on the road in Saskatoon than there are citizens in Saskatoon. You have an automatic 400,000 people in and around Saskatoon from the suburbs, farmers, towns, and villages. Now that the highway to Prince Albert is double lane and the speed limit is faster Prince Albert is now only an hour drive, and now you can add in an extra 60,000 if you include Prince Albert and every town in between. Elk Ridge a place for the elite is also really close to Prince Albert. Another city only an hour away from Saskatoon is North Battleford. If you count that city and every town in between in with potential fans you will have to add in another 50,000 people. Lets head south to Regina. Regina is a 235 km Drive making it a two hour drive to Saskatoon, or for the slight speeders an hour and a half drive. If you want to add in Regina and every town in between to the potential NHL attenders than you have to add in another 400,000 people. Moosejaw is even closer to Saskatoon than Regina is at 207 km. This makes a drive of maybe an hour and a half from Moosejaw to Saskatoon. Moosejaw has a population of around 32,000 people. I can go on and on about how Saskatoon is the centre of Saskatchewan, and most of the population in Saskatchewan is in Saskatoon or around Saskatoon. Saskatoon is the most accessible major city in Saskatchewan. Credit Union Centre seats 15,195 people, and has 43 luxury suites available and ready to be used at any time. As for corporate sponsors supporting the Saskatchewan NHL team based in Saskatoon here is a list of potential sponsors that are located in Saskatoon:Kraft
Great Western
Sasktel
Saskatoon Auto Mall: Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Hyundai, Saturn, Mitsubishi
Credit Union
Tim Hortons
University of Saskatchewan
The Starphoenix
Pizza places: Pizza Hut, Family Pizza, Verns Pizza, Panago Pizza
OK Tire
Dakota Dunes Casino
Radio Stations: Rock 102, Magic 98.3, Wired 96.3, C95, CFCR 90.5, Free 100.3, 650 CKOM
SGI
Hotels: Radisson Hotel, Travelodge, Holiday Inn, Sheraton Cavelier, Delta Besborough, Saskatoon Inn, Ramada, etc.
Potash Corp.
A&W
Mosaic
Tourism Saskatoon
Fast food franchises
Gas stations
etc...

Saskatoon is considered the fastest growing city in Canada, and this speaks loud in senses of how the economy is. Saskatchewan is considered to have the best economy in Canada, and the outlook for Saskatchewan is incredible. There is billions and billions of dollars being poured into Saskatchewan from an international level. Anyway, after saying all of this, no one can say that there isn't enough people in close proximity to Saskatoon to support an NHL team when it surpasses the population of the city of Winnipeg, Quebec City, or Edmonton. No one can say that we don't have enough corporate sponsors available in the city or province, and no one can say that Credit Union Centre isn't big enough because it surpasses the seating capacity of MTS Centre. If an NHL team was going to move anywhere Saskatoon seems like not only a good place, or a great place, but the idea of moving an NHL team anywhere else before Saskatoon/Saskatchewan would be incredibly unsmart! Thank you, I'm Jason Friesen. I look forward to seeing what everyone has to comment about this topic.

Phoenix has treated Turris rather poorly, benching him for his first game in his home city, after playing very well the night before. His time is constantly cut and the Coyotes coaching staff plays inept veterans over Turris and other rookies that may have something to contribute.

Now I know most of you consider yourselves "old school", but in this day and age, that kind of behaviour is regarded as a "dick move" not "old school".

Turris was one of the only Coyotes to show up in last years playoffs. On top of that, the Coyotes future, is at best precarious. Will the be in Phoenix in a years time? Two years time? They are a team that shows more interest in signing cheap players than quality players. They are a team spinning their wheels and not going anywhere in the standings...

Not everyone is Shane Doan, who can play on a perennial loser his entire career and be happy enough to stay loyal.
