PHOENIX – The Phoenix Coyotes announced this week that they have cut 22 players from their training camp roster. The Coyotes have 28 players remaining in training camp and must have their roster down to 23 player by the time the regular season opens on Saturday October, 9th.

The following players have been re-assigned to the Phoenix Coyotes American Hockey league affiliate the San Antonio Rampage:

The Coyotes also have returned their 2010 first round draft pick (13th overall) defenseman Brandon Gormley to the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Finally, the Coyotes have placed defenseman Shane Hindy on the injured list and is out indefinitely. Hindy was at the Coyotes camp on a tryout basis.

Below is a list of how the Phoenix Coyotes training camp roster stands as of today. As you can see, the Goaltending positions have been set and the Defensemen positions are almost set. What comes now is expected to be a tremendous battle for the remaining forward positions.
