GLENDALE-The deal that Coyotes fans have been waiting for has arrived. The Phoenix Coyotes have signed veteran center Martin Hanzal to a two year, $3.6 million dollar contract. According to Hanzal’s agent, the deal is worth $1.5 million in the first year and $2.1 million in the second year.
“We are happy to have re-signed Marty and have him in Phoenix for the start of training camp next week,” said Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney in a prepared statement. “He is an important player for us who plays critical minutes against the best opposing forwards.”
