St. Louis Blues v Phoenix Coyotes

As the playoffs progress for the Phoenix Coyotes you all will be focusing on many different players for different reasons. There’s one player that Coyotes fans should keep a eye on as this series with Detroit progresses.

Ed Jovanovski

That’s right. Jovocop.

I’ll tell you why. Ever since he signed with the Coyotes, fans have never seen him perform in the playoffs and have second guessed the amount the Coyotes have been paying him ($6.5 million this year). Throughout his career he has always raised his game in the post season during his time with the Florida Panthers and the Vancouver Canucks. However, until Wednesday night no one has seen Jovanovski play post season Hockey in a Phoenix Coyotes uniform.

What they saw was the man nicknamed as Jovocop transform into a Warrior. Jovanovski left an impression on fans by his tremendous play in game 1. Shane Doan may have been the most visible player on the ice doing damage to Wings player with 9 hits in the game. Jovanovski quietly left his own mark in game 1 of the playoffs:

24:04 of ice time* – 34 Shifts* – 2 Shots on goal – 7 hits – 2 blocked shots

* = Led all Coyotes players in this stat

Keep an eye on Jovanovski Coyotes fans, its been four long years since his last playoff appearance and he’s looking like he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with.

We started this site to meet the growing demand by Coyotes fans in their need for Coyotes News. We do things a bit differently here. We don\'t provide the canned articles you would find on most other sites. We provide analysis, news, and information with a bit of attitude. EDITORIAL MISSION: We let the other guy handle the box scores and stuff like that. We fill in the gaps in coverage....and trust me there are lots of gaps in local coverage that need to be filled.
