Boston Bruins v Montreal Canadiens - Game One

Earlier today, the Phoenix Coyotes clinched their first playoff birth since the 2001-2002 season when the Boston Bruins defeated the Calgary Flames 5-0. Needless to say the Whiteout will be in full effect at the Jobing.com Arena when the playoffs go into full gear.

Now for those of you who are pretty new to the NHL and hockey, today’s news is just that the Coyotes have been guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. Who they will play in the playoffs has not been determined as it will probably come down to the last game of the season. 5 of the last 6 Coyotes games this season are against teams that will be in the post season. The outcome of all of the final six Coyotes games will have a direct effect on who they play.

So keep an eye on the standings and they will determine who plays who.

Also, playoff tickets went on sale this morning to the general public. If you would like to purchase tickets, please refer to our article with all the info needed to purchase tickets:

hahaha how are the phoenix fans responding to a winning team? no one likes a team that loses and is in a bad mental space. not all sports cities and teams can be like toronto or the laughs. also lee stempniak is an official traitor and will get boo’d on site anytime he’s in tdot (not really, but leafs fans have noted the slight) or steps anywhere near the acc (definately going to get a blanket ovation of boo’s there. he better have some ear buds). anyways i’ll stop being a laughs loser and say IT’S ABOUT TIME YOTES. KEEP THE FAITH. YOU HAVE REALLY GOOD 2 WAY PLAYERS ON THE TEAM AND TIPPET IS THE MAN (sad he got fired but guys on the team weren’t listening to him anyways. new change of scene is always good). and it was way pass time before gretzky stopped coaching that team. he had to leave, and it’s really too bad for the yotes that he left too late because the team had tuned out most of the time he was there and no matter how hard the players worked, or whenever they phoned it in because they weren’t having any fun and were down on themselves, someone should have realized that gretzky had to go. even patrick roy is a better coach. anyways and good trade moving mueller onto the av’s and getting wojtek. mueller is a good kid. lot’s of upside. lot’s of potential. he’s going to grow and get confident being around a young team that plays fast in colorado. wojtek is already a mensch so he’d play well and fit on any team in the league and still play his own game. really good additions on the team on trade deadline day. good on whoever’s at the top making those decision. CONGRATS PHOENIX. the players on the yotes more than deserve it. slugging through that and playing day after day, year after year and losing most of the years. and anyone who can stick through wayne gretzky coaching is a stalwart in my eyes so good on ya boys!

We started this site to meet the growing demand by Coyotes fans in their need for Coyotes News. We do things a bit differently here. We don\'t provide the canned articles you would find on most other sites. We provide analysis, news, and information with a bit of attitude. EDITORIAL MISSION: We let the other guy handle the box scores and stuff like that. We fill in the gaps in coverage....and trust me there are lots of gaps in local coverage that need to be filled.
