Colorado Avalanche v Phoenix Coyotes

As we stated in our pre-game article this game would be a battle of two stingy defenses. What we didn’t state was this game had the potential of being one where the team who made the lease amount of mistakes would win the game.

These were the two factors that decided the outcome of the game.

For the majority of this game, it was indeed a battle between two stingy defenses. Both teams brought their ‘A’ games and battled the better part of two periods deadlocked at one goal a piece. Near the end of the game, newly acquired Wojtek Wolski (from the Divealanche of all teams) took a great feed from Shane Doan at the left faceoff circle and launched one past a Divealanche defense that was chasing the puck and a napping Craig Anderson for the game winning goal.

Because of games like this where defenses don’t give up many scoring chances, shooting lanes or any form of a scoring opportunity, there isn’t much else to analyze.
