Coyotes versus Toronto Maple Leafs
Air Canada Center – Center of the Universe, Canada
Puck drops at 5:30 PM AZ Time
TV; FSN AZ

The Coyotes decend upon the Center of the Universe to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This game has many angles for stories such as the Coyotes Bankruptcy case. However, the more realistic (read: the stories that the Canadian Media won’t cover) is that the Coyotes will be playing on Canadian national television.

The Coyotes have the opportunity to make a huge statement to all that will be watching that they are a legitimate threat to all teams in the NHL this season.

The Leafs this season have been teetering on the edge of medioricty and terminal suckage. The Leafs have one of the most potent offenses in the NHL this season with their PP ranking near or at the top of the NHL rankings all season long. The only problem is that the Leafs are a typical Eastern Conference team in that playing defense is merely a suggestion. However, to the Leafs playing defense is more of a handicap than a suggestion.

The only reason why the Leafs aren’t at the bottom of the NHL standings is that there are other teams that are playing worse than the Leafs (if that can eve be imagined).

The Coyotes have a great opportunity to send a huge message tonight. Let’s see what they do with that opportunity.

Game Notes:

- Tonights game will be broadcast nationwide in Canada on TSN
- Leafs GM Brian Burke will run the Olympic Torch for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics through the streets of Toronto this Saturday (Burke is a dual citizen in Canada and the US).
