The Coyotes have fired San Antonio Rampage Head coach Greg Ireland today.

Well, the Coyotes put together another win against the very talented Philadelphia Flyers 3-1.

Ok the bad news first.

The Phoenix Coyotes will be hosting numerous viewing parties around the greater Phoenix Area at Oggi’s in Glendale or 18° in the Ice Den in North Scottsdale. Come on out and meet other Coyotes fans and cheer on your team in a fun atmosphere!

The Phoenix Coyotes have announced that they have re-assigned forward Kevin Porter back to San Antonio.   Initially re-called on the 16th of this month, Porter appeared in two games with the Coyotes.

In his post game press conference, Minnesota Wild Coach Todd Richards called the game “…our poorest performance of the year.” I’d have to agree. Wild Goaltender Niklas Backstrom kept this game close while the rest of his teammates were coming apart at the seams.

The Coyotes head off to Minnesota to take on the reeling Wild. The Wild seem to be in a bit of a transition to a new system period after spending their entire existence as a defensive minded team. In addition their key injuries have kept the Wild from being competitive this season. The Wild have some talent, but not enough this season to make the playoffs. It should be a good defensive battle to start but with all the injuries to the Coyotes defensive core, the matchups may be just about even.

Last week, Swedish newspaper Helahalsingland reported that former Calgary Flames defenseman Anders Eriksson worked out with the Coyotes.  As you can see, as of today he’s not a member of the Phoenix Coyotes so you can reach your own conclusions.

The Coyotes lost a heart breaker to the visiting Tampa Bay lightning 4-1. Like the Canadiens game before it, the Lightning brought their ‘A’ game defensively along with goaltender Mike Smith.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman was in town on Monday conducting business with the City of Glendale and taking in the Coyotes/Bolts game.
