Phoenix Coyotes vs. Saint Louis Blues
Scottrade Center – Puck Drops at 6:00 PM
TV: FSN AZ
The Coyotes meet the Blues for the third time this season and this matchup may be something the Coyotes needed as the Blues are a team that the Coyotes should beat. The Blues are 2-5-3 in their last 10 games and not many people in Blues town aren’t happy about that….especially Blues owner Dave Checketts as seen here:
Checketts is right. The Blues are good enough to win. However, the Blues haven’t been able to translate that onto the ice.
This is a great test for the Coyotes in that they need to bring out another foot to ass performance and not let the blues in the game at all.
Things to watch:
The Blues – This is something everyone should keep an eye on to see how they have responded to calls for them to start winning.
Coyotes Defensemen – Players have had to step up and fill big minutes for the players that went down and as seen last night, they did. Keep an eye on how they play tonight.
Keys to the game:
1) Back to Back games – Lots of players logged long hard minutes last night in a great foot to ass performance (for the most part). They have to maintain that again tonight.
2) Offensive zone play – The Coyotes did great last night with primary shots for goals. However, goals against teams that play good defense, the goals are going to come in the low slot/crease area on third, fourth, etc attempts.
3) Stay. Out. Of. The. Penalty. Box. – The Coyotes are still taking too many undisciplined penalties. There are times to take a good penalty in game situations. However, the Coyotes penalties have been anything but good ones.
Officals:
Referees: Stephanie Auger, Kerry Fraser

Injuries/Scratches:

Coyotes: Ed Jovanovski, Matthew Lombardi, Zbynek Michalek, Kurt Sauer
