The Phoenix Coyotes are back in action tonight in Anaheim where they take on the Ducks for the second time in a week.

Last weeks game was a game that was filled with fighting, checking, and even a suspension. It was the best game of that weekend that no one saw due to it not being televised.

Tonight’s game doesn’t promise to be a repeat of last weeks performance. However, this is a rivalry game and since these two teams do not like each other…anything can happen.

Things to watch for:

Coyotes Defensive corps – With injuries to two key defensemen, the rest of the team is going to need to pick up the slack in ice time, scoring and role playing.

Ducks Forwards – The Ducks have some of the most talented forward corps in the league and they’re fun to watch. This will be a great challenge for the Coyotes across the board.

Keys to the game for the Coyotes:

Stay out of the penalty box – 12 penalties in the past few games…most of them stupid ones. The Coyotes need to get in the practice of knowing when to take a penalty and when not to.

Discipline on Defense – The Ducks may be one of the worst teams in the league but they are insanely potent in their offensive zone. Many of the ducks forward have points streaks for a reason.

Make them pay in the offensive zone – The ducks are one of the worst teams in the league because to them, playing defense is merely a suggestion.

Points Streaks:

Coyotes: Jovocop – Three Games

Anaheim: Corey Perry (7 Games), Ryan Getzlaf (7 Games), Saku Koivu (4 Games), Teemu Selanne (3 Games), Bobby Ryan (2 Games)

Injuries:

Coyotes: Kurt Sauer, Ed Jovanovski, Zbynek Michalek

Anaheim: Jean-Sebastien Giguere – Day to Day – Groin

Officials:

Referees: Dave Jackson and Rob Martell
Linesmen: Vaughan Rody and Lyle Seitz

Notes:

- Jovocop is day to day with a sprained ankle.

- D-man James Wisniewski is back in the lineup tonight after serving a two games suspension for a hit to Phoenix captain Shane Doan’s head.

- Mikkel Boedker re-assigned to San Antonio (AHL) on Nov 6th

- Shaun Heshka recalled from San Antonio (AHL) on Nov 6th – Takes Jovocop’s place in the lineup.
