That quote came from Boston coach Claude Julien in his post game press conference. Quite impressive if you ask me. The Coyotes came out with a complete game and the effort to match. It’s really hard to find fault with this game because there really weren’t any overt weaknesses in this game. The Coyotes played a solid 60 minutes of hockey and got tremendous help in the goaltending department from Bryz.

As the line from the movie Major League said, the Coyotes are starting to come into their own….kind of. After playing some borderline hockey in the first period and just plain awful hockey in the second period, the Coyotes reached down and overcame a 2-1 deficit after two periods to beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in overtime.

I attended the Coyotes home opener Saturday night and man what a scene it was! 18,000+ people all decked out in white excited to see another season of Coyotes Hockey to get underway. I haven’t seen this much excitement for people attending a hockey game since I attended Game 5 of the 2006 Western Conference Finals in Anaheim, CA (the game where the Edmonton Oilers punched their ticket to the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals).

The Coyotes arrived in Buffalo for the second game of a back to back road game out to show fans what this team is made of so early in the season. However, in the Buffalo Sabres the Coyotes played up against what seemed to be a mirror image of the Coyotes in just about every aspect of their games.

The Coyotes traveled off to Pittsburgh to see if they could follow up their great start to the season in LA against the Penguins. The Coyotes took advantage of a very undisciplined Penguins team as the Penguins spent a good portion of the game (or so it seems) in the penalty box. The Coyotes were able to capitalize on two of those opportunities.
