Coyotes Statistics for the week of October 23, 2009
Just did some research in some of the Coyotes stats after the Red Wings game the other night. I found some very interesting statistical breakdowns…..

At home: 2 wins 0 Losses
On the Road: 2 wins 1 Loss
Overall: 4 Wins 1 Losses
2) The Coyotes still have work to do on even strength scoring. Some of the players have the majority of their points on the Power Play (PP):
Shane Doan – 85.7% of his point totals for the season are on the PP
Ed Jovanovski – 80% of his point totals for the season are on the PP
Adrian Aucoin – 66.7% of his point totals for the season are on the PP
3) The Coyotes penalty minutes per game average is about 11.9%. 9th Lowest in the NHL
4) The Coyotes rank 12th in the NHL on the Power Play with a 21.6% average (had the man advantage 37 times and scored on 8 of them)
5) The Coyotes rank 9th in the NHL on the Penalty Kill with a 82.8% average (Only 29 times on the Penalty Kill and allowing only 5 goals).
6) Coyotes Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov leads the NHL in GAA (Goals Against Average) with a spectacular 1.26 GAA. He is also 4th in the league in wins with 6. Bryzgalov leads the league in save percentage at .949 and shutouts with 2.
7) Coyotes lead the league in Goals Against Per Game with 1.50 Goals Allowed per game.
Lastly, as of today, the Coyotes are ranked #2 in the Western Conference.
Let me know your thoughts about me publishing these stats on a regular basis.

We started this site to meet the growing demand by Coyotes fans in their need for Coyotes News. We do things a bit differently here. We don\'t provide the canned articles you would find on most other sites. We provide analysis, news, and information with a bit of attitude. EDITORIAL MISSION: We let the other guy handle the box scores and stuff like that. We fill in the gaps in coverage....and trust me there are lots of gaps in local coverage that need to be filled.
