As you know we first broke the news in Phoenix that Sean Burke was to be named the new Goaltending Coach and Grant Fuhr was to be re-assigned as a Goaltending Prospect coach.

Well, the Coyotes have confirmed that not only is this true but they hired former Columbus Blue Jacket’s head coach, Dave King as their assistant coach.

Grant Fuhr’s new title with the Coyotes is ‘Director of Goaltender Development’.

When reached for comment, the Coyotes stated that Sean Burke will be taking on his new role of Goaltending Coach full time.

When we asked if Burke’s former position of Director of Prospect Development was still open and if it was to be filled which the team replied with a ‘no comment’.

Finally, we also asked if there was a time table to decide on the future of Wayne Gretzky as coach of the Coyotes and the team refused comment on the matter.
